في البدية
!شكرا لوقتكم الثمين الذي تفضلتم بقضاء بعضه في هذا الجزء من العالم
أحب الحكمة! وأحب كل ما يتعلق بأهدابها ويتلمس شعورها! أحب من يحبها وألهث دائما بحثا عنها
لذا
أحببت أن أضع بين أناملكم بعضا من أشعارها
لنحاول ترجمتها
علنا نستفيد ونفيد من لا يعرف العربية بما نعرفه من جواهر الشعر الحكيم
وفضلت ان تكون ابياتا قصيرة لكي لا أطيل
ولا آخذ من وقتك الشيء الكثير
:قال الشافعي
نعيب زماننا والعيب فينا
وما لزماننا عيب سوانا
ونهجو ذا الزمان بغير ذنب
ولو نطق الزمان لنا هجانا
وليس الذئب يأكل لحم ذئب
ويأكل بعضنا بعضا عيانا
وقال
وعيناك إن أبدت إليك مساؤا
فدعها وقل يا عين للناس أعين
فلا ينطقن منك اللسان بسوءة
فكلك سوءات وللناس ألسـن
أخيرا
أخي لن تنال العلم إلا بستة
سأنبيك عن تفصيلها ببـيان
ذكاء وحرص واجتهاد وبلغة
وصحبة أستاذ وطول زمان
دعونا نتشارك ونشارك الآخرين ما تبدعه قريحتنا الشعرية الانجليزية لترجمة هذه الأبيات الجميلة
ترجمتي هي
we dispraise our time
although shame lives in us
Our time has no sham but us!
We satirize this innocent time
while if it can speak
then we will be the satirized one
A woulf does not eat other woulfs' meat
but we do eat each other in an open place!
the second:
Your eyes,if bad things they see
ignore them and say,people can see
Donot say evil by your toung
you are full of shame and people have toungs!
finally:
Brother,you will never acquire knowledge
but by six things
which I will say in clear details
intelligence,concerning,assiduity,
reaching your goals,
companionship with a teacher,and a long life that has sense!

what about ur translation am waitin 4 it, and i will soon post mine :)
ok i will give it a try but am not sure ok
we blame this era,though defect is within us
the defect of this era is nothing but our fault
we satirize this era for no reason (or we satirize this era, though it is innocent)
if the era could just speak up, it would satirize us
wolves don't eat other wolves
but we eat each other in defectiveness.
am not sure, i hope the meaning that i conveyed is correct :)

nice try...but i think there r two misconcetions'
the 1st one is:
ومالزماننا عيب سوانا
يعني ان الزمان لا يملك عيوبا الا وجودنا فيه
the 2nd one:
عيانا أي امام أعين الناس
the rest is good

ohhh hii nice translation, i misunderstood those parts i thought that عيانا is عيابا lol thats y
so i can correct it and say in public better than in an open place, cuz in an open place doesnt has the meaning of عيانا امام عيون الناس got me?
the meaning of in public is more correct
and u have spelling mistake in woulf cuz it is written wolf
